Tyres...done to death
Not posted for a long time basically because the v70 as been faultless...
But, tyres replaced the rear 14months ago and the front 12 months ago with Goodyear efficient grip performance in 225 50 17. Done 14000 miles. The rears now need replacing with front not far off. I'm no expert but shouldn't they have lasted longer? And what do I replace with that's going to last? Cheers Jason

If there all wearing quickly it maybe worth getting the alignment checked on all 4 wheels. 14000 miles seems a bit low to me unless your racing round.

The modern fuel-efficient tyres dont last long Im afraid.
Yes get alignment checked to eliminate that, but otherwise, you either; Stump-up for Michelin Buy Kumho/falken for half the price but get similar lifespan and performance Put up n shut up Buy Pirelli P1 ir P7 cinturato and go inbetween, getting longer life than most but cheaper than Michelin. |

Surprised about the rears going so soon.
I'm used to the front tyres taking all of the wear with the rears hardly wearing at all. Because of this, I've often tended to swap the tyres front to back at service time so as to even out the wear. |

I'd like to see pictures!
Depends at what tread depth you consider your tyres spent, and whether they've worn evenly. I'd expect 15k to 20k on fronts, and 35k on rears. If your rears are wearing as fast or faster than your fronts, and the wear is even across the tread, then I'd suggest that's most unusual. |

Had my V40 in for service last week, it has Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance all round, had a full set of 4 earlier in the year and have done 16k since, 6mm on the rears, 5.5mm on the fronts (according to the health check).
So yes they should have lasted longer...
