New V70
Hi, this is my first post in this section.
Previously had a 2006 V70 but only had it for 6 weeks due to engine trouble. The dealer I bought it from couldn’t fix so got a full refund and put the money towards this newer one. That was my first Volvo but even after the couple of weeks I’d used it I was hooked on the comfort and practicality so went in search of another. After driving a P3 model I decided it had to be one of those and eventually found my ideal car. I’ve got a 2009/58 plate D5 R design in black with 105.000 mls on the clock, 2 owner car with full service and mot history and original bill of sale. New it was just under £35,000 with loads of options fitted when new. I paid £5500 for it which wasn’t the cheapest car out there but it came with a 2 year RAC gold warranty, service just done, timing belt and aux belt and water pump just done, new windscreen just been fitted and wheels fully refurbished and it is near mint condition. First impressions after a week are it’s as comfortable as the old shape one I head but it outshines it in every other respect. Only slight niggle I noticed today a drip coming in the boot. The rubber grommet around the hole where the electrics connect to the boot lid are loose. Could it be coming in there do you think? Other than that phenomenal car that looks stunning. Look forward to many years of motoring with this one hopefully. No doubt I’ll be after advice. Cheers, Nathan. |

Grommet shouldn't be loose . Seal it with some silicone or similar. Another place that water gets in is around the tailgate hinge seals , they need to be kept clean so that thy seat against the hinges . this water then drips through the join of the plastic trim on the rear roof lining .

I had a similar leak on mine. Water dripped through the roof lining panel. The rubber was gunged up after about 5 years (at the time). I have kept it clean since then and no more issues. Mine is a MY2010 which is now nearly 10 years old and done 68K. I love it to bits.
