Default Xc70 camera/traction/lights etc

Nit had my 2008 xc70 long. Iv noticed a few strange things. Firstly I keep getting an error message saying "camera blocked see manual" I'm not sure what to make of it.

Secondly I dont think the traction control is working. I have checked it is turned on via the menu but the other day I felt the front tyres loose traction around a bend. Iv since driven the car around a private roundabout sharply enough that the tyres are skidding around the roundabout. Nothing on the dash to suggest traction control was doing anything. Is that normal?

Thirdly, I have had an ongoing issue with the main beams. They keep blowing fuses. Iv since left them out. However iv also noticed that the front right light (which I believe is eixon light) is flickering on and off

Fourthly, the sat nav randomly just pops up sometimes without any actions from me. Usually when I start the car.

Could all these things be related? Maybe an ECU issue?

Well, did you check the manual for what to do when the camera is blocked, and still need further advice? Just to know where to start...

There's no way traction control can prevent the tires from slipping if you try to go around a roundabout at silly speeds. As long as the car feels that you know what you're doing, it will let you continue.

If the Xenon light is flickering, you most likely need a new lamp.

Ok thanks.

With the traction I was just trying to see some evidence that it is actually doing what it is suppose to do.

As for the camera, I did read the manual. It just says to keep the area for the camera clear (which is it).

You are aware that DSTC has three different components?
  • Traction control, which is the electronic substitute for a cross-wise differential brake. This system attempts to make wheel slip equal left-right.
  • Anti-spin, which strives to eliminate wheel spin by reducing enging torque output.
  • Dynamic stability control, which attempts to counter sideways and/or rotary skidding.
Then there's the AWD, which attempts to eliminate wheel-slip differences between front and rear wheels.
The first three getting in action will illuminate the DSTC control light. AWD does not.

If the electric heating of the window in front of the camera fails, it may fog up when it's cold outside. Then you get that message.

Assuming the satnav works like it does in the P2 cars, then it should resume in the state it was in when the car was turned off.
If it was turned off the last time the car was turned off, it should stay down when the car is next started, and vice-versa.
