Mine is very quiet too.
Car was serviced Oct 11th
I drove down to Cornwall and back over the last 24 hours and only noticed the ping once which was at a fixed camera in Cornwall.
Usually, it was pinging at every variable speed camera along the M42 and M5 but nothing now. (So much so it was a bit annoying).
Route was set and I checked that the setting was switched on.
On balance, I would prefer the audible warning back.

My car did go in for its service in early July, thinking that it may have been altered on a Volvo software update, but I'm sure I've heard it since then.
Hello! Everyone else seems to still have the sounds but I am in your camp now.

I did a 2k road trip to Italy in August and had boings all the way with Waze on.

I now DO NOT have the boings (but also have not had the car taken in to a garage). Sat Nav guidance on, Sat nav volume turned up, boings turned on in settings - nothing.

It was great having them from both Waze and Sensus as Waze only notifies you if you are going above the speed limit a certain distance before the camera, whereas Sensus did it regardless.

So, given we both have the same issue, I expect there may be a software issue affecting certain models. I have 100% not changed any settings and 100% used to have them and now don't.

FWIW they still pop up in the HUD and instrument cluster - just no sound.

Hi tspdavish. I had another look at it this morning since Volvo or the dealer weren't any help. I've managed to get the sound working! It looks like the last software update they did completely reset the car and unchecked a lot of my preferences. I went into the settings and selected My Car. Then selected IntelliSafe. Then Road Sign Information. The Speed Camera Audio Warning option was unchecked. I selected it and then went for a drive past a speed camera and the sound now works.

It was definitely checked (Selected on) but with no sound (only visual speed camera icon) before the car went back to the dealer. The technician took me through the settings over the phone when I first contacted the dealer with the problem. Given that it was checked but no sound he then instructed me to bring the car in for a full system update. I can only conclude that the latest software update sorted the issue out but the dealer didn't then check the settings to ensure sound was selected. I hadn't bothered looking until now as I assumed they would have done that! Probably worth a check on the settings, I know you said you hadn't had a service update recently. One other area to possibly check is driver profile - has this changed at all?

Has anyone else having problems with the countdown to the speed camera in the HUD?
It shows the length of yards to camera on the driver display but recently it has stopped showing the length on the HUD. Its shows the symbol ok, but the range is blanked out.

I wonder if you have to adjust the volume control while the beep is in progress. No idea how you can spot that.
The nav speech volume can be caught and adjusted in flight.

Just a thought; is the key fob being used that the profile for these functions was set or is the second key fob being used that has not been profiled.
It would be worth trying the other key fob to see if it is the same while using that one.

I thought about that when I was having issues but it is impossible to adjust the speed camera volume while in progress. I'd previously accidentally turned the sat nav sound off by turning the volume knob down, so I assumed the speed camera sound silence was caused by that but I was unable to replicate it.
I still think driver profile change might be a cause as nu11eaf says, either that or the latest software update may be affecting some vehicles.

Hello all. I posted last year about this. Car went in for ERAD repair and the noises activated again when I got the car back so this definitely is a software / issue brought on by being taken in.
