Wanted: Washer bottle
Like many on here I'm looking for a washer bottle with the pump in the top. My pump is missing the impellor and the bottle leeks!
If anyone has a pump/bottle It would be a great help! |

Water bottle.
Is it the round tall one? If so I have one you can have for postage only. Do you want the bracket? See my Free parts thread on for Sale blog.

Hi Gerald,
Unfortunately it is the square type. I wasn't sure if there were more than one. Does yours have the pump in the bottle? |

Water bottle.
Hi Tom,
Unfortuanately not. Its off a 1964 but the bottles must vary depending on what they bought in at the time. My 1966 had the pump in the bottle type. This one has a holding bracket if you can get a seperate pump. the filling hole is only about 25mm diameter so hard to adapt. Regards Gerald |

Think I might have one for you. Square bottle with black pump on the top. Top of pump has a red cap. 12 volt. Works perfectly.
By the way.... I´ve just joined. Come originally from Bournemouth but have lived in Sweden (Linköping) since 1976. Had Volvos since moving here. Have an immaculate PV 444K (1956) and a 144M (1967), which has only done 40 thousand miles. The PV on ebay (see other thread), is an -L- model which left the factory with a B16 Sport motor (1600cc + twin carbs) All Volvos were 6 volt till the B18 motor turned up (1962-3). The advent of the B18 heralded 12 volt system. So this had had a B20 (2 liter) implant, electrics changed from 6 to 12 volt (thereof alternator instead of generator). Amazon disc brakes at the front(all PVs had drums) It is the -Calafornia- model. White with a special cream and black interior. This looks okay but could have been -renewed- The instruments look okay but the center consule is probably not original. Personally I think it is a bit of a -hotch potch- with so much changed on it. Still mine has an interior in green leather (although the original, clean and in good order, cloth and plastic interior is in my cellar in a box) Last edited by PV444K; May 30th, 2011 at 10:29. |

Hi PV444K, unfortunately your bottle seems to be different in its mounting! There seem to be at least three types. Mine has a pressed steel mounting.
Your PV looks stunning! |

I think this is probably a "universal" bottle. Mount depends on the car. A slide on mount at the back or at least two different cage mounts, one a wire type and the other made from flat strapping. I've got one with this number, 671723, that from the dirt stains was mounted in a strap type mount. It came with some 140 parts. I have the same one on my Amazon in a slide mount.

As you say, there are about 3 different models. My wire cage one is the earliest I think. As with other components, availability and price determined what went on the cars. The metal plate that the bottle slides on to is the most common one but there was slight variations of that as well.
The kiddies chair on the passenger seat backrest in the picture, sort of sets the whole thing off. Not to be used -for real- of course....
