Looking at todays updates to the online configurator, it appears that the inscription trim is no longer available on the 90 series.

The R design plus is now the top of the range, which is disappointing as I never got on with the bolstered seats or harsher suspension.

That'll upset my Dad. He was thinking that next year he would replace his T8 Inscription with another last-of-the line model. While im not after a car I might have beem tempted by his old one at the right price...

I guess it's an outgoing model now, due to be replaced 2022. Thats incentive enough to rationalise production, but the chip supply issue gives further incentive. Add to that that the T Design is their best selling in recent years and I guess it makes commercial sense, akthough it'll be unsatisgactory to many customers.

I quite like the R Design on the older model for its better steering, but now im in my 60's im at the point where wafting along at walking pace is becoming strangely appraling.

How very odd, I ordered an XC90 R-Design Pro B5 diesel just week before last and according to dealer order was accepted by the factory for a March del date, little did i know it would possibly be one of the last of that model. Just hope it arrives!

Fingers crossed for you but if you’ve got confirmation the factory has accepted the order I would assume you’re safe.

I’m still waiting to hear from my dealer if my order has gone through. Suspect he’s deciding how to word his apology!

Did you sign the lease agreement? Hopefully yours will be accepted too?

This is specific to the UK only. Must be a temporary glitch. I suggest you call your dealer and fact-check. Please report back if you hear anything.

I have checked V90 price list and Inscription is only available for T6 Plug-in hybrid AWD Automatic.

This is not nice movement from them to be honest ;(

Looks to be the same with the XC60, mild-hybrid diesel engines AND Inscription trim are no longer on the configurator or the downloadable pricelist/specification booklet.

Which is just the spec I ordered in September...I've dropped an email this morning to ask for a guarantee that my build has been accepted and will be honoured - my ETA is end of March.

Like you I don't like the R-Design seats, and sold a Q5 and ordered an XC60 Inscription primarily for comfort as I do a lot of long trips.

I actually like the R Design seats I had on my V40.

I think they mould to your body better. I do miss the R design as it drives better.
