Default Window Tint

Hi - even though there is a tint on the windows of my V70(09)-1.6D DRIVe SE 5d, I would like to get additional tint to the rear end windows.
There are two main reasons, my hobbies are Metal Detecting and Fishing, therefore a lot of gear in view when carried in the vehicle.
Secondly, our Bedlington Terrier requires extra shade with the summer!!! coming up hopefully!
I have had a couple of quotes around £100+. Have any members had this done and if so, would they recommend having it done for the cost involved,

I had mine done for around a similar price when I got it. I did have to get them to redo it as the first time there was too many air bubbles. They also had a few working practices I wasn't keen on. As the price is reasonable, I'd consider popping along to one at a random time and watch them in action if you can. That way you'll get an idea of the quality of their work.

I had mine done in Darlington last year. I think it was £160 for rear doors and the 3 rear windows. No bubbles and all done over a full day.

I had it done for security and also so I don't need blinds in the back for the children. I went for full limo tint but where I went there are several tints and colours to choose from.

Don't forget that you should declare it on insurance. It hasn't made any difference to my premium.

Regards,

I’ve always used a company called pentagon tint in glasgow, not sure if there is other branches elsewhere. They are expensive compared to some, always first class though and never had a problem.
If you already have a tint, maybe think of getting a lighter shade than the limo as the limo and your current tint may be too dark at night time.

I had a megane coupe a few years back and that had a tint on it from factory and got limo and was far to dark at night, horrible trying to park ect.

I bought precut film for the boot area and the sides are very easy to do as glass is flat so this is deffo a DIY job. Tail gate is a pain due to curve and I messed it up big style so left it off (after trying twice..) Overall it darkens the boot quite well with only sides done I also have the loose blinds that I fit in the summer and they are really good.

I would recommend getting it done professionally, mine came with lifetime guarantee and although I could have done it myself, the swear jar is already quite full...
