Default Turbo oil leak?

When I've changed the oil recently, I've noticed wet oil on the angle gear casing which is below the turbo.

The oil in the angle gear is full to the side filler bolt hole.

But the turbo has oily deposits on it, so I assume this is the culprit.

Obviously just topping the oil up is no big deal at all. I probably use a litre over 15k miles which is probably mostly burnt and not leaked.

Just wanted a few opinions if it's anything to be concerned about.

2003 V70 2.5T AWD on 78k miles with full service history.

Thanks.

OK, so done a little more research and it may be one of the oil feed or return pipes to the turbo that has a leak somewhere.

Quite easy on FWD cars to access, but not on AWD models!

I'll get back under it now I have a better idea of what it might be and inspect it further to see if I can spot the leak.

No way am I removing the angle gear though!

What is your pcv system like?
It could be leaking from the intake pipe from the airbox to the turbo.

I posted a similar post a while ago may be a few years now lol with regarding a similar issues, with photos.
I was told the turbo return seal. Only costs a few £ from and on an awd models it's unreachable due to the transfer box.

When the garage change my HG last year I asked them to change the seal... however they told me that it did not look as if it was leaking so didn't bother.

Since then my car has developed an oil leak from the crank seal between box and engine, so I just keep a close eye on levels lol

Had no idea about the PCV system.

Anyway did the dipstick, then glove test and getting nice suction on the glove, so all looks good there.

I'll go under the car again when I get a chance and see if I can find the leak.
