Climate control issue
Hi
I have a 2010 XC90 but have a problem with passenger side blowing cold air, drivers side blowing hot, I have taken out the glove box and exposed the motors, I have taken off the motors but cant see them moving, also the re circulation flap does not close when selecting. When pushing the direction of air flow buttons I cant hear any changes, would all the motors be broken of would this be a control module? I have done a diagnostic read but with no real direction to what the fault could be |

I have removed all motors and none of them seem to move at all, the flaps in side all move freely, would this be a control board failure on the buttons?

The chances of all of the stepper motors having failed together, or indeed all of them having failed even over time, has to be vanishing small. So yes, you have a systemic problem.
You say you've performed a scan - did you see any DTCs relating to the climate system? These are prefixed CCM-

I've not experienced it myself but I think I've read previously that the almost standard AQS sensor fault can cause this.

One thing to note is that a genuine Volvo sensor should be used as the VW ones seem to cause other problems. If the price of a brand new on is a bit too rich for you then eBay is your friend. I found a used genuine sensor for £20.

Would this effect the heated seat on the passenger side as well? I just bought a 2005 xc90 off my mate and he said the climate control when haywire and the heated sest stopped working at the same time... Need to see if i can get my old vida setup working again
