Smile Car won't start

Hi all I'm what you call a newbie. My problem is my car just packed up one morning as I was leaving for work.
I have a 1989 740 SE with the B200E engine.
I have a good spark at the plugs, but I don't seem to have any fuel getting into the system. I must admit I know nothing about fuel injectors, as all my previous car have had carbs... Any help will be gratefully accepted.
By the way my car has over 170000 on the clock, does this putt me in the high mileage club.
Many thanks.

could be the fuel pump. unplug the fuel pipe from the injector unit, run the starter, see if fuel pumps out (aim it somewhere safe)

Hi Mate

More likely to be fuel pump relay/injector amplifier.
In that order.Easy way to check the first one is can you here the fuel pump running if you just switch the ignition to position 2 but do not crank. The pump should prime for 5 secs or so. The second one needs checking at the injector harness with a bosch noid light they are inexpensive on ebay for a set Approx £10 they are just bulbs which plug into the injector plugs and light up if you have power simple as that.

Hope this helps

Stuart

Many thanks for your input.
I tried to listen if the fuel "pumps" made any noise and i could'nt hear a thing, it looks like they have been their since the day the car was built, they are so rusty I cant move a single nut. I have sprayed them with WD40 and left it overnight.
As for the relay how the hell do I get to it? What a stupid place to put a fuse box and relays behind an ashtray.
Anyway moan over, which of the relays I cant get hold of is the fuel relay? Any Ideas??
Many thanks to you all, and have a merry christmas
