Default 9 months to work this out ...

On Sensus Nav I have been frustrated that I see lots of POI and don't know what they are - finally worked out how to find out what they are.

When you see a POI symbol on the screen that you want to get info on
  • press any key on keypad to get arrows on screen
  • use numbered keys to move the screen to get the POI you want under the cross hairs
  • press OK button steering wheel thumbwheel or OK in centre console
  • move down to POI info and press select

This will give you the info that is recorded for the POI

Hope this helps someone else.

Now if anyone could tell me how to get the Sensus Nav to avoid a traffic message I would be very grateful

The messages are delivered by TMC which is carried on Classic FM in the UK.

My problem is not that the systems warnings about traffic jams or road closures doesn't work, it does work but I cannit find a way in the Sensus Connect Nav system to tell it to re-route avoiding the jam or blockage that it is warning you about.

On the previous Sensus and MMM2 systems you could simply select - Avoid Message and you would reroute do around the problem, no such facility that I can find in Sensus Connect.

It seems bizarre that they have left out such basic functionality.

Iain just out of interest does your car pop up with Nav messages (whilst on route) like "problem with your route..new route 3 mins faster 1mile longer do you wish to change route" or something to that effect.

Sometimes, it is a bit random as to whether it offers an alternative or not (and not always correct)

Last night a message was read out about a 20min delay en-route and again I couldn't find a way to avoid the problem - it was about 15 miles away - luckily knowing the area I was able to avoid the incident and git home without any issues.

But what is the point of the system if you can't tell it to avoid the problems that it is telling you about - especially when the older versions of the same system allowed you to selectively avoid the notified incidents

I have the original Sensus system, and sometimes a traffic alert will come through but it won't offer an alternative - simply because it can't come up with a better alternative route than sitting through whatever the issue is.

But I would say that's a minority of cases though, most of the time it can find something!
