Default XC90 Engine Warnings

I have owned a XC90 for around 3 years and I constantly get the 'Engine System Service Required' warning up and then it disappears, however just recently my car has been losing power when the warning comes up normally when I have been holding the car up at a constant speed, invariably when i kick it down, it clears. I have had all my warning codes downloaded and consider most of them to be niff naff and trivia however, I have had 'Swirl Actuator Control, offset fault' and 'Mass Air Flow Sensor, faulty signal'. Are these comment faults and should i be worried. What ever is happening is very sporadic.

No, don't worry, that check engine light coming up for years isn't a bad sign at all. It was installed because the bright light is good for the skin of the driver... Sorry, couldn't resist...

It's always a good idea to post all fault codes, if you already have them. There are a lot of cases, where they are connected. In your specific case, I'd say you already got the fault, seems likely that the MAF is shot or the cables/plugs are corroded and don't send correct signals. Your symptoms fit that fault.

I'd start with that and work my way up through the codes. Nonetheless I'd erase the error codes after the MAF repair, drive a short wile and read them again. Then work with the next fault, erase, drive, re-read again.
