Removing locking wheel nuts
Has anyone had much joy getting a stripped locking wheel nut off?
I don't care about scratching the alloys, just want them off! I'm guessing if I get the spinning collar off then I would have a chance at smashing a socket on but will need to work out how to break the collar. |

Presumably these are the Mcgard locking nuts which often cause issues.
If they are, take a photo of the locking nut face and send it to Mcgard who can identify which key is required and they will sell you one direct and post it out. Once removed throw them away and replace with standard wheel bolt

If you have a local friendly garage, an air hammer with the correct bit would break the collar off. Then you can either weld a big nut on or use locking wheel removal tool or similar. Obviously correct steps taken before welding on the car.

It's one that I'm fixing on my drive - so ideally suggestions that don't require getting someone out
