There were a few threads recently about C70 seat problems (try a search) and I seem to recall someone saying that there is a cable that connects the lever on the side of the eat to the folding and sliding mechanisms and that it can break.

Hi.
It tells you how to do this in the owners manual.

However, if you don't have a manual, then you have to lift and drop the handle *without* moving the seat at all, and then you lift and HOLD the handle up and then tilt and slide the seat in one movement.

Very tricky to get right , but once you do it works every time. :)

Have to say though, it is a slightly weird way of doing it, but it does work. Also try not to be too violent with the handle as the cables have been known to snap and they are a pain to get replaced, not to mention the expense.

Later,
Dan.

Perhaps you could be more specific about the CD player. Does it just need the security code entering? Or is it 'on' but with some aspect not functioning? Volvo used to do an exchage syatem for duff radios - you could get a new one for about £100 plus your old unit. I replaced my V40's SC805 that way.

Hi.

If one of the seats doesn't tilt or slide already, then chances are the cable is already broken and will need replacing.

there is also a red loop on the rear inside bottom edge of both seats to tilt and slide them forward from the rear seats. See if they still work.

Cheers,
Dan.

Hi.

That seems to be a broken cable! :(

A trip to the dealer for the part/job etc would seem to be on the cards.
