Brake calipers.
I have a 1996 940 LPT estate with ABS.
Last week I tried to replace my front disks and pads. I had bought Brembo disks and Pagid pads. I couldn't remove the caliper bolts, so gave up, and today got a garage to do it. The sliders were seized on both calipers, like everything else! Got the Offside front caliper off and rubber is all perished, so advised need a new one pretty soon. Where can I buy one? Anyone have a used one with good rubber? Many thanks. James. |

They'll recondition yours, supply calieprs outright and exchange and also do seal kits for many. Not too far away from you either in Worcester.

Ideal if they have off the shelf available as using the car from the 7th of October. Also caring for my Grandparents full time, so limited time. Looking at the fixing kit needed, they are Lucas/TRW brake system. James. |

Make sure to replace the carrier yoke bolts, though you may be able to re-use the caliper bolts with a suitable thread-locking compound. If you go with Classicswede's bits you might as well order the brake guide sleeve kit while you're at it.

They can be rebuilt amd refurbed for the price of seal (About £20 for a pair these days) and perhaps sandblasting and paint but it is a messy business. New complete calipers at £60 (exchange) is good value.
I've always found brake parts a good site. https://brakeparts.co.uk/shop/Volvo/...el%20Cylinders The carriers I got from Volvo £20 exchange. |
