Make very very sure you knock off the Lane Departure Mode.

I picked up my new 2018 XC60 T5 with Polestar on 31st May from Volvo Oxford, during my travel back up the M40 all was well until I moved over a lane and noticed a slight judder in the steering this judder occurred a couple of times on the A34. I noticed this judder, which was a bit off putting a number of times so I raised my concern with my local Volvo. I explained what I was experiencing and they suggested I turn off the Lane Departure facility which I did and hay presto no more problems. In discussions with a Volvo sales person, he informed me that his V90 was doing the same so he turned off Lane Departure. A number do. It may not effect your good self but if it does you now know where the problem is. I did think it was the 21" wheels and low profile tyres. Thank god it was a simple solution.

This will only happen with Lane Departure Warning turned on if you change lanes without indicating (when travelling over 40mph) as the car things you're veering out of lane (due to lack of concentration) - its not a "problem" with the car, more a case of not having the feature explained to you fully by the sounds of it. Lane Keeping Aid is a brilliant feature when used correctly and in the correct situations (i.e. not much good on small country roads where you're forced to cross white lines, but good on Motorways, as long as you indicate when changing lane.....) Kind Regards Marc |

Surely it trying to steer you away from oncoming traffic would suggest a loss of control before it intervened.....
