Default Modified Volvo Insurance

That time of year again for me. Elephant renewal came in at around £70 more than last year.

So far I can't find anyone who can even come close to them price wise.

Main issue I'm having is finding a company who'll accept the Shark Remap. That and the DO88 I/C are the only modifications !

Most laughable so far has been LV @ £1747 !

Any recommended companies out there ?

Thanks, might give them a go too, parent company and all.

I'm just off the phone to Elephant and fairly satisfied with around a 20% discount on my renewal price.

It was always good when you could get a new business quote beforehand to give you some bargaining power. Sadly they have become wise to it though.

My first car was, 30 years ago, a MK 1 Escort 1300 XL (awesome 6 dial dash on it, wish I'd never had it stolen outside of work). It cost me £220 to buy and £270 third party only to insure; I was a car mechanic then, they don't like us it seems.

Now I have my '05 V70 SE D5 and it costs me £273 with all the bells and whistles, NCD protection, SWMBO on the policy too and I reckon that's ok. Hastings Insurance take my money each year; is there a significantly better deal to be had?

Ours is about the same for an 05 2.5T V70 in central London. Hard to imagine it could be any cheaper than £250 or so. I reckon it's pretty cheap because we older Volvo drivers are probably among the safest risks driving cars that no one in the right minds would crash into or steal.

(I should have stated that the £273 includes small charge for monthly payments and also business mileage too. I feel content with this.)

I thought that, but a drunk BMW driver still had a go... :-(
