I tried the purple ones and was not happy with the fit. Made my own and had to remake the tooling due to a couple of issues. I used a fairly soft material as the wishbone needs compliance to rotate properly. Overly hard bushes will make the suspension bind

Meyle HD will be good for 2-3 years. Lemforder may last longer.

Price is not always reflective of quality when it comes to car parts. Some suppliers inflate their prices based on contractual reputations, whereas some suppliers don't have to fo this or don't feel the need to do this. Given the cost of Meyle parts vs original Volvo parts, you'd assume that the Volvo parts were superior, yet Meyle claim hands down that their ball joints and other parts are far superior to OEM supplied parts, hence their inflated prices.
Lemforder is already well established and is an OEM supplier for lots of car manufacturers. They don't need big advertising campaigns to sell their products, which I can only assume is one of the reasons why their parts are cheaper. Meyle parts feel like good quality parts, but my own experience with them is that they don't last. I'm about to send another set of drop links back under warranty, owing to them failing after only 12,000 miles. Lemforder on the other hand has always proven reliable. I know some may disagree, but my own experience with Lemforder is that you get great quality parts at affordable prices.

I fitted Lemforder to mine 18 months ago … approx. 12000 miles. I've just replaced the offside one again which I got swapped under warranty cos the rear bush split. Lemforder have a two year warranty.

I fitted these about 2 years (and apr. 50.000 km (31.000 miles)) ago.
So far, no problems. Fingers crossed Forgot to mention that I unfortunately drive on mainly bad roads. Last edited by bkulcsar; Jun 17th, 2018 at 21:52. Reason: added road quality |
