I'd ask them to leave them off the service and whip down to Halfords. Or replace them before the service.

Same as that, I'll be explicitly saying not to replace them. I'd usually buy genuine blades and fit them myself, or find out who makes the OEMs and get them (i.e. Bosch for BMWs). I've always found genuine blades did the best job, but either way It's a 5 minute job to do it yourself.

Thanks for all the replies, main thing I wanted to know was if there was something unusual about the Volvo blades, apparently not.

I think we are all in agreement that £140 is outrageous.

Years ago we had a fantastic Mercedes dealer (we drove by 2 to get there) they were dealer of the year several times.

For things like this, even brake pads, if you said no, they would quote you on the parts only and leave them in the boot, usually with extra free screen wash and an air freshener or such.

They dont exist anymore, Mercedes wanted them to build a new showroom and buy out the next towns franchise, they could not finance it and had the rug pulled.

For me good service is a lot better than a taller showroom with more glass!
