Default Egr blanking c30 1.6d 6spd

Hi all I'm new to volvos, I've got a c30 1.6 diesel r design 2011, think it's a d2 whatever that means. I've been reading about the Egr issues people are having so thinking about blanking mine, just need to know how to do it, what benefits it will give me and how it will affect the emissions for its mot and I it can be done on this engine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Illegal, immoral and you will immediately fail your MOT and be forced to restore the emissions systems to normal operation

Don't do it.

There are actually very few egr problems, forums are a place where owners ask for advice so it just looks as if there are lots, probably ten owners out of a hundred thousand who have no problems, so they just don't post.
