I've just ordered a pair of clamps and bolts from my local Volvo dealer. £24 the lot including VOC discount.

I finally got around to fitting the new clamp parts having waited until the tank was nearly empty. One bolt undid fairly easily. It wasn't necessary to undo the other since the bottom clamp plate then simply fell to pieces!
A bit of a clean-up and the new plates went into place very easily. The whole job didn't take more than 15 minutes and I didn't even have to take the wheel off. The marks on the tank aren't leaks but penetrating oil overspray. Definitely one of the easier jobs I've done. Martin 1998 V70 Tdi auto 225,000 miles 2008 V70 2.4D auto 111,000 miles |

You need to order two of each of these parts (if ordering from Volvo), otherwise you only get half a clamp and one bolt - as I just discovered.

I finally got around to fitting this.
It is an easy job. I found it best to first remove the rear RHS wheel. I guess getting the old one off could be a problem, but in my case it was so badly corroded that I could simple pull it off by hand without undoing the thing! |
