Default lower balljoint-allen key needed?

The steering rod ball joint needs an allen key in the center to keep it from rotating when loosening the nut.
-Does the lower control arm ball joint need the same?

I changed the lower ball joint last year but can't remember if it needed an allen key to keep it from rotating.

No need to reply,- it does not need an allen key.

Smile counter hold

usually the balljoint is well stuck on its tapered shaft, but doing it up you need to use an allen key to counter hold it, only thing is there is so little space i ended up cutting down an L shaped key on the short side which worked great..

No hole for an allen key on mine, but it seated well and I was able to fasten it properly.
