Has anyone bought and fitted one - or in fact any other aftermarket top mount bush for the D5?

Thanks
The top "mount" isnt a mounting at all , it is a torque reaction bush .. the engine is "mounted" on two large hydraulic pads and also has a rubber mount near the crank pulley . those are the mounts as such ..

The small arm under the gearbox fixed to the subframe and the big soft bush you see on top are to take the twisting force only due to acceleration and deceleration forces which are generated . the lower one takes most of this torque the top one just steadies the engine and stops it rocking too much so a fairly simple soft bush is required as the other and of the arm is mounted on the bulkhead and excessive engine noise would be generated in the cabin with a hard bush , thats why the 850 roars when accelerating . Especialy the T5 !

I'm in the trade, restoring classic vehicles, and I have an account with SuperPro, the largest manufacturer of urethane bushes.

This is the same item as the IPD unit, see :

Is anyone interested in a group buy - I will check the price, but it should be around £25 plus a couple of quid P+P.

I don't know how IPD can sell them at $22.10, but when you add tax, import duty and shipping, you will be close to £25 anyway. These are in stock in UK, and will be with you in 1-2 days

I've got one on order, and will post up details tomorrow, when it lands.

Reply here if interested.
I have just been quoted £85 to supply and fit this mount on my S60 D5. I would be interested in buying one for around £25 ish. I have just spent £620 on a service then £380 on 1 injector so I am keen to keep any further cost down. I should be albe to fit this component myself

Top mount is an EASY job for someone who can hold a spanner/ratchet and can undo some bolts...

It's SO easy it's unreal.

They are about 35/40 from volvo for the genuine part IIRC...

I'd be interested in the Powerflex version - only because I'm not convinced about the IPD one as I didn't think there were many D5s in the US? Nevertheless, I'm happy to be proved wrong and look forward to any feedback from Pawl on his fitting.

Chopper Man, I can wait 4 weeks - too cold outside in the garage!
Let me know when you get another sample if you need another tester, although happy to buy one when the production ones come available. PM me accordingly.
