Roof bars for 2000 V70 ph2 wanted. (not rails)
Hi I would like to get hold of a set of genuine roof bars for my 2000 V70 phase 2 shape. I have the fore/aft rails already fitted, I believe the bars come with a torx style adjustment bolt to help grip the rail tight.
On my car the gap between the upper inner face of the rails at the very front of the rail is 1069mm and at the very rear of the rail is 1040mm, I presume the genuine rails have a limited amount of adjustment to cover this difference. I hope these measurements are of use in working out if yours would fit. If anyone has the volvo part number to assist in my search then that would also be appreciated. Mike. |

I have some genuine Volvo roof bars, that fit on Volvo factory fitted roof rails.
Trouble is, I have no idea what Volvo they are for!! I bought them as they had some cycle carriers fitted to them, and that was the bit I was after. Planned to attach the Volvo cycle carriers to my Volvo roof bars, but as I can't adjust the front/back distance, the carriers aren't any good for me either! Ah well.. I could send you a picture of the gripping mechanism, if you like, so you can see if you think they'd fit your rails?

Just been out and checked the bars.. The distance side to side isn't a problem. They're loose on the cross bars until tightened in place. The tightening is done via a thumbwheel, not a torx screw. And there's LOADS of adjustment for different thickness of rails. I would think that these would fit just about any car with rails.
One thing, tho.. There's a shaped 'foot' that lies on top of the rails. This is a rubber part, and one of the rubbers is missing. the shape is still there, in the plastic, but it obviously won't be quite as cushioned as it would be with a rubber..

I have a set which I used on my 2000 MY V70 so I know they fit perfectly. I think the part no is 853-2793-06. Good condition with all parts inc rubber feet. £50 plus p&p Wolfie |
