.Mine doesn't have that raised separate level part, and I replaced mine due to cracking maybe 3 years ago with a genuine dealer part.
Original and replacement both the same, and both have same FoMoCo part number

Its a yellow / greenish colour, and the car came like that. Its a T5, so maybe they use different coolant dependant on engine?

Maybe the design has changed?
This new one is the same layout as the original one on the car, which is the same as the Ford performance one (they have a performance and normal, difference is the bottom (3rd) pipe comes out the front or back). So maybe yours is the Volvo design (pre Ford), and this is a Ford design?

Mine is definitely a Ford one, I remember laughing when it turned up and I peeled back the 'Volvo' sticker to reveal Ford Motor Company stamped into the plastic.

I bought it from FRF Volvo through here.

.

You can just make out the FoMoCo branding:

Just been out to the car and took these:

My header tank was cracked - bizarrely, it looked like it had been bashed from the outside, with gouges in the plastic! I only spotted it by parking canted over on a slope, which would send the squirted-out hot water held in the sound-deadening to one side of the car and thence to the ground.

I took the car to my Swiss garage mates (because that's where I was...) and being in a civilised, rational country they ordered the part at 6pm and picked it up from the railway station at 8am the following morning. They drained the coolant, swapped the tank, topped up with fresh and told me there were no other leaks. I therefore drove the car like I had stolen it, up through Germany and back to the UK. The level they filled it to is pretty much on the seam in the moulding, and it hasn't budged a millimetre. Orangey looking fluid.
