Thanks for that. I hope to make it to the Southern and will have had a couple of weeks to save enough for the 2 then.

All they need to do then is an official parts and wiring disc.

Thanks Volvo and the club.

Judging by the photo/scan that Chris attached in his original post the discs should include a spare parts catalogue. If all of the green manuals are included then you should also get the wiring diagrams.

Is this any help?

many thanks , that will help a lot of people..

However , no it doesnt help with 440 from 1996 - 1997 despite what it says about the 1993-7 models in the document .The only place i have seen the correct proceedure is in a service bulletin . This proceedure is similar to the previous 1994-5 but there are subtle differences ..

As no one else has replied...

I've bought a copy of the 300 series one (Chris kindly brought me one down to the Southern) and I've very impressed. Scan quality is good and for the 300's at least several versions of the same book are available, so you get some of the originals as well as the last printed version of each green book. I havn't flicked through it much more than that, lots of the original launch photos (for want of a better word, the ones used in some of the brochures) are available in resolutions good enough for desktop wallpaper.

I'll be picking up a different series at the National, just for interest value of the different models.

I've installed my 700 series disc now. After the disc loads and you click through the language selection menu etc you need to click on 'IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT USING THIS PRODUCT'. From there you activate the disc by downloading some software to view the manuals and also have the licence emailed to you.

The disc seems to contain all of the green manuals. It even contains the English language version of the Pierburg 2B5 carb manual, the water leak tracing manual, wiring diagram books and 'new features' books for each model year.

I think they're pretty good value for money.

The only other thing I'll say is that I was surprised the disc doesn't contain the service bulletins, but they were never available to the public anyway AFAIK.

I was interested to see that some of the 1986 740s had a 2-stage setting for the heated seats, just like the V70. That's in the 'new features' book.

I would like to say thanks to the VOC for being able to supply these discs at a really good price, and also to Volvo for actually creating these discs.
