Default Faulty new engine mounts?

Hi all, just bought a brand new front and rear engine mounts. The rear seems to be fine but the front won't hold vacuum? Or even reach vacuum, it draws air through the vent holes in the upper body, has anyone else had a faulty new mount? Or am I missing something obvious? Cheers Phil

What brand are they? You will see from other threads that it is not unknown for aftermarket mounts to not hold vacuum, or even not to contain any internals! Use genuine Volvo if you can.

Cheers Greg,
they are birth- made in Italy. They have a guarantee so will be going back. I’m just glad I tested it before I went through the process of fitting it to find out it was faulty.

Hi Phil, been down the exact road mate, ordered a a pair from GSF and both failed almost straight away! Can't remember the make but no make i had heard of! Took them back and at same time ordered another pair, this time it was a corteco rear and another random front, the front failed again (before fitting) rear is fine as its a corteco, def recommend that make, I then brought the one everyone talks about on eBay (front) marked up as a meyle, is ok so far.... As others have said, it's marked as a corteco but looks very much like a Volvo part as the seller has "rubbed" something off the mount, I would guess it's where it said Volvo.... All in both mounts were just shy of £100.
FYI, if your ok with fixing cars both mounts can be done within an hour, hardest part is fiddling the rear mount out of the car! Easiest way I found was through the inner arch past the steering arm/track control arm! Hope this helps
