V70 D5 Phase 3 sloppy gear lever

I have a 4 year old six speed manual P3 with 160K on it. Only current issue with it is the plastic ball and socket at the base of the gear lever is very worn and turning to dust! It's getting a bit tricky to get into some gears now. Anyone know if there is a repair kit or something to resolve it? don't fancy replacing the whole selector assembly at Volvo prices (or is it a Ford part....). I have greased it for now to try and get a few more miles out of it but what a crappy design, same plastic materials working against one another. Gearbox itself is perfect, no whining or synchro issues.

Hi I had to remove the gear lever boot yesterday on my 2007/8 V70 D5 6 speed manual.It was covered in white plastic dust and is quite sloppy and gradually chewing itself up. I have lubricated it with some silicone greas e for now and will see how it goes. I think it's the"Ford effect" and cheaper materials as my previous V70 P2 had done 180000 miles and gear lever was still all good.
