Looking good Gordon
I would like to get an oxy acetylene set up. Thought you needed a licence? Russ |

Hi Russ,
I have an account with Air Products, so have Acetylene and Oxygen cylinders on rental. I set this up when I was running a limited Company several years ago and have never been aware of needing a license. Don't think that the laws have changed since then and am sure a big company like AP would be sure to uphold any legal requirements surrounding supply. I love using gas as although more heat soak than TIG, it's a lot less fussy and more versatile too. Gordon |

Good weather today meant I could turn the patio into a blasting facility! Downside is I'll need to wash the windows now -there is dust and Aluminium oxide residue everywhere!

I've been shot blasting all the spare 'black bits' that I've found in the loft and have snapped up some last minute bargains on ebay too. I'm going to do a 'paintathon' and spray them all black with 'Rust Bullet' in one go.
Also, sometimes circumstances make decisions for you. I picked up this New Old Stock stainless system for a price I couldn't refuse. This means that with a standard spec exhaust system I won't be upgrading to twin SU's so the car will be kept fairly standard. I do have a set of lowering springs for it however, but more about those later... Shot-blasting---black.jpg Stainless-exhaust.jpg |

Wow, it'll be 4 years this spring that this project came to take over my workshop! It's time to get on with it. To be fair, there are loads of small jobs that I've done since I last posted here, but the main one is that I've just finished shot-blasting and epoxy primering the engine bay...
2014-12-21 22.19.30.jpg I had bought some 2K paint in the cars' original white, but with the twins around now I won't be doing the main respray myself any more. |
