Next few bits?...

both from auto specialists , breather system £600 (but you get £150 when you send them your old one),

cooler £450, but not sure if it will fit as well as it does on the ford?

decisions to make....

Smile i've got red nuts...

Nice day for a change today so i took the chance to make a start on some cleaning on the V50. Read a few how too's on the web etc and following the advice there i started with the wheels.

before....

they dont look bad in that photo but they were covered in dust/mud and tar, so wheels off,

struts were a mess with tar, spoils the nice yellow, got to work with the Bilberry wheel cleaner and a pass with tardis ....

turned this...

to this.....

arches got a quick pass with the pressure hose some tardis on the struts calipers cleaned up then polished with the megs engine dressing before getting a quick wax and seal with the wheel sealant, then a light spray of the dynawax, leaving everything looking like so....

wheels back on with a final misting of the megs quick wax allover and a turn round the tyre with the endurance gel, never lasts but looks good for a few days!

oh and the nuts are now red!!!

started to run out of time so had a quick go at the exhaust tips, they were black! but a little elbow grease and they are shining again...

then just had time for a once over with the snow foam and a very quick hand wash two buckets and megs gold class (smells lovely)

sky was turning very grey so left it at that for today, tomorrow i hope to get round the whole car with lime prime then some sort of wax / sealant not sure what the best order is but it will be lime prime first and that should take a while!!

managed to just about get the front end done today before the rain came...

quick wipe down with detail spray to get any dust off then hit it with lime prime and the rotary machine, gave very smooth results topped it off with dodo blue velvet followed by a mist over with quik wax spray.

rain has stopped play for today hope to get the sides done tomorrow but they have a few scratches that may need some cutting with the 3m stuff, hope for sun tomorrow!

Hey car is looking a--hh-mazing!

What brake kit you got on there.... and how much clearance is there between the caliper and the inside of the rim?

I'm on 17" OZ the same as yours (which are 18" I believe?)

Looks like that kit might be a bit big as I'd lose 12.7mm around the rim with my smaller wheels.

Hey Monkey, its a PB (Phat Boy) 356mm 6 pot kit, and it just fits in behind the 18's there is only a few mm top and bottom clearance. check out the web site for PB it has some great looking stuff and really easy to look through. loads of options and they are compatible with ferrodo, ebc pads etc.

Some of the new parts on lately, the new oil filter housing is from auto specialists it's listed for the focus but is a straight swap and easily done at home if you don't like your knuckles very much.
Photos are not great but it's hard to get anything to show in the camera as it's all hidden quite well.
Also a photo of the inter cooler from shark, I had a read through this thread and noticed that I didn't have a pic of it anywhere!

Car is in desperate need of a service, the alarm is going off for fun! the rear park assist has packed up! and even the "airbag warning" has flashed up a couple of times. not to mention the "service required" is on all the time now!!

Now i am going on the Modball Rally this year in the volvo !!! page three girls, fast cars and parties every night .... what could possibly go wrong?

anyway the car is going to be sent down to the very helpful lads at shark for a full check up before the modball, and i hope to have a new lower manifold (ported and polished and a remote oil cooler to give them as well )

can anyone think of anything in particular that i should get checked out before this mega journey? i have mentioned getting the aircon flushed or charged whatever it is that it needs ? and i will get new pads and discs all round just to be sure. tyres should still be legal but i may need them too nearer the time.

the service that is due is the bigger one if i remember correctly so is there anything in particular that i should make sure gets done to it? belts etc???

any suggestions are welcome i need the car to be tip top for the modball !! so i would rather get it all done now !
