Default V50 Airbag fault

Hi guys,

My V50 came up with the "SRS AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT" - and for like most other with this error I have the know fault: SRS-CFFF. This one cannot be reset with my VIDA DICE so what to do?!?

Bonus: I also have the fault SRS-E001, this seems to be a communication error with the SRS module :-o

I have read different things (regarding SRS-CFFF) without an actual answer, so what is possible?

1. Buy a new SRS module and have a Volvo Dealer program it for the car
2. Have the old SRS module reset and the fault will be gone
3. Buy a used SRS module on Ebay and program it to the car when fitted

My fault happened (I think) due to a bad battery where the power was way down and I was unable to start during winter.
New battery but of course the fault is still there.

Can I just have the SRS module reset some where or?

Had the same thing, low battery, SRS came on.
New battery, it's still there.
Volvo want £450-500 + vat to sort out and program.

Any help appreciated

Will the code clear with Vida?

I had a problem where it wouldn't clear 'not active' codes on the SRS module due to an internal fault. I took the module to an ECU repair place who repaired it and cloned it to a spare module I had as well. Cost about £70.

Thanks for taking the time to reply reggit.

It was Volvo who gave me these codes, they didn't clear anything, just wanted to give me a £400 module and £40 to program + vat bill to sort it.

Where is this ECU repair place you talk of? I need to go there

I used these people but it's a long way from you.

You'll also need vida to reset the stored codes when the module's been repaired and refitted (assuming it is the fault).

Thanks again Reggit.

I spoke to a company who said this:

unfortunately as there's no crash data stored there's not much we can do with your unit.
It looks like you would indeed need a replacement but it's possible to get a second hand unit.. you'd just need to make sure that the part numbers are exactly the same as the original unit and you would have to go to an auto electrician to get it coded to your vehicle with the Vin etc.

We have a few units in stock and if you find the part number I can have a look if we have one.

So hoping a new unit can be bought.
Does anyone know the part number please?

had the same issue on my s40 which ive just fixed. sent the srs ecu to crashdata who clear the srs-cfff code, when you get it back you can use an icarsoft i906 to clear any other codes and the light on dash goes out.

Warbster, - if I am understanding this correctly.

If you have the SRS-CFF control module internal fault, you send the unit to crashdata who clear the code.
When you plug it back in will the airbag warning message be gone, or do I need an icarsoft i906 as well to clear it?

thanks
