I've got a 740 turbo estate and you've got me wondering, what do you mean by swap the m46 for an m90 and it'll be a cracker. Is this something a 740 turbo owner needs to know about???? Thanks in advance, Stu

The M90 gearbox is a much stronger unit than the old M46/7 gearboxes and has a much nicer shift action. Makes the car feel much more modern and you can up the performance of the engine without worrying about the gearbox being able to take it

Thanks for that SteveP, I think my gearbox is the lesser 4 speed with overdrive, coz it feels a bit like a bucket of spaghetti when you change gear (its not really that bad....honest). I dont think I'd be changing mine, I want to keep it as original as I can, Its been in the same family for 21 years and is in super condition. Just need to get my new exhaust manifold fitted and MOT. Thanks again to the more knowledgeable on this forum, Stu

Yeah but no but yeah....

The M90 also has the dreaded Dual Mass Flywheel....
