Default Midlife crisis customs...

So I want to jazz up my XC90 (Dark green, ivory leather trim 2003 D5, SE AWD SEMI-AUTO).... I want to black out rear windows and have side steps added..... How much am I looking at for this? Will this add value or depreciate? Can anyone recommend any other customs That will look good for a 30 year mum on the school run ha ha and someone in Brighton who is able to do them?

Just an idea but have you considered getting it wrapped? Matt black? Camouflage? Sky's the limit with this wrapping stuff.

Go for it. Doubt side steps or rear tints will add value but definitely more desirable with them. Chrome wrap on the steps ? Refurb the wheels - plenty of options to choose from. Plenty of chrome trim bits if you havent already got them. Have a look at my Project thread if you want any ideas ;-) Its not quite pimp my ride but i like it :-)

We have chrome trim all round already, and I think it looks a whole lot better with rear tints and side steps - I'm like the boy racer in our relationship My husband likes the car to be practical and worries about the MPG I want to lower it and have neons underneath!!!

Oh dear - I'd rather raise it up and put bigger off road wheels on it !!
One of the American owners on here completely de-chromed his. He also put an almighty air horn slung underneath - not quite my style but the video is hilarious.

Found it.
The original post is here and contains a link to a U tube 'demonstration'.

Gshadow325 completely dechromed his vehicle although it looks like the pictures have moved since. He obviously uses/used the vehicle as some sort of response vehicle too - cool.

Obviously not everyone's taste and questionable legality (for fun or otherwise :-) )

Cheers
Ian.

Do a search on Gshadow325 threads and there's awhole bunch of stuff he's done to his vehicle.
