Rear park assist issue
Hi forum,
My rear park assist has a continuous tone on three sensors when in reverse even though nothing is there. The one on the rear drivers side works most of the time. Any idea what the issue could be? Any help or pointers would be appreciated. The car is a 2008 V70 D5. Ta, Deano. |

VIDA might well tell you which component is at fault.

Unsure if it'll be the same way but worth a punt, but try listening to each sensor with a screwdriver pressed up against it and to your ear (like a stethoscope) you can just about hear the pulse/tick of it scanning.
I've done it on a different brand of car with success but I haven't been blessed with the luxury of rear parking sensors on my XC, only the towbar! |

Stethoscope.
A length of plastic tubing with a small plastic funnel jammed in one end. Place the funnel over an ear and the other end of the tubing against the subject. This makes it possible to hear all manner of noises within components. (water pump, distributor, alternator, cam cover etc.)

Just adding something to your post #4 regarding the screwdriver stethoscope.
