New electric London black cabs, based on XC90
Been to London Motor Show today at Excel, London. Visitors were being offered short rides in the new electric black cabs. Had my turn - being electric, its quiet inside, at least at the demo speeds within the Excel centre.
The driver commented that the cab borrows many parts and components from XC90. And you can see that. The screen, steering wheel and buttons are a give away. Attached some pictures!

It’s not just the spa parts bin the drivetrain tech is the full BEV and range extender tech. This is the trial for the 2019 launch of Volvo’s full ev offerings!

provided the kit works, the batteries last and can be charged in a few hours. Otherwise itll be an expensive flop. I reckon there will be a few teething problems then all will be well
