Can you afford the repairs if the belt snaps?

Paranoia set in & I've just had the cambelt & auxillary belt changed at 106229 miles... the thought of the belts snapping & being faced with an horrendous bill, just filled me with dread
At 113000 miles I'd bite the bullet & get the belts changed asap & pay for it on a credit card (if you have that facility available of course)

If it were me I'd get it changed ASAP it's over the Mileage already.
Yes it may seem expensive but if it should go the bill will be somewhat bigger.

The number of times people have said 'I'll get it done next month' only for it to then rollover again & disaster strike. (not talking just about cambelts but anything in life)

I wouldn’t worry about the cam belt itself to much yes it’s over the millage limit but it’s the auxiliary belt tensioner that will let you down. Make sure you get it changed with a Volvo one!

I have had 2 Aux belts snap in 6 months 1st time round the garage didn't change tensioner but did when the 2nd belt snapped. When the 1st belt snapped they blamed it on a weak new belt !!!

That was beginning of the year

Very lucky escape for you, the number of people on here that have mentioned aux belts going & taking the cambelt off wrecking the engine.
