Hi Simon, yes of course brakes are critical things but I don’t believe this is a trial and error basis, to my knowledge there are at least 3 sets of Porsche calipers being evaluated and despite getting the piston equation wrong on one set, I’m sure Gary won’t be taking his children out in a dangerous car.

The whole point of this project as far as I’m aware is to find an alternative to the expensive brake upgrades currently available and if Gary succeeds in finding a viable engineering option I will be the first to copy him. As I said the jury is out till we see some results.

In the meantime I will wait because I don’t have 1K upwards to spend on new brakes and if I did it would not be spent IMO on a single piston sliding caliper kit as fitted to your car. By the way none of the calipers are red in colour, ce qui sera sera lol.

Regards

Gary.

Sorry, couldn't resist this!

Keep us posted on developments, but don't let your prejudice against the floating caliper cloud your judgement!

Lol, old pics will get you every time. I won't Simon, there are other calipers out there which are better overall IMO which may be cheaper to convert and if so then its the guys running the older cars who will benifit.
