Eurolight on American 940gl?
Hi there...
I have a 92 940GL (American version) and I was wondering if any of you know if the european version 1 piece only Headlight will fit on mine. I sort of dislike the headlights split the way they are. I don't know the reason for that yet, Mercedes is the same thing too. Thanks... |

Euro lamps etc
Hi,
I understand that the Euro headlamps will fit - if you ask for more details on the US websites www.brickboards.com and/or www.turbobricks.com I'm sure they'll be able to give you full details including any caveats. Regarding the reasoning, I think it was due to US legislation at the time - something to due with category of motor vehicle. A guess is that it was engine HP related - I seem to remember something about cars over a certain power outpur being classed as sports/high performance and so required different lights - presumably better, but as I said, all this is conjecture and a very gray memory! Might be something to look into if you're interested Good luck with the lights. BTW There is a US breakers yard www.vlvworld.com that sells Euro lamps occassionally - they should also be able to give you fitting info.
