  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

seems odd that 5 coil packs were split...as you say shrouds are coil packs...dya have any pics you could post please?

also odd that bosch couldnt supply them....your car is quite young! bosch still supply HT leads (not the original supplier to volvo but no that that matters) for 300 series

Hi, just to clarify - 4 out of the 5 coil packs were unserviceable due to the shroud part of the pack breaking up. When the packs were taken out to allow access to the spark plugs the rubber shrouding on 4 of them was brittle and splitting. In fact you could crumble the rubber by rolling it between finger and thumb! Its amazing my car was running at all.
The mechanic tried to buy only the shroud part but unfortunately Bosch don't supply them anymore - you have to purchase the coil pack as a full assembly, it made sense then to replace all 5 - a job I hope doesn't need repeating whilst i own the car. The car was subsequently fitted with OE packs at a cost of £50 each ex vat.
