460 SE 1.8 tempreture gauge
The temp gauge is permanently in the red but the engine is running fine what is the most likely cause???? Any help is very much appreciated:7

If you are sure that the engine is not overheating, the most likely cause is the temp sender unit or the gauge itself.

Temp sensor broken, wire shorting to ground somewhere, or the guage broken.
Temp sensor I'd place a bet on. On fuel injected cars there are two sensors, one for the ECU one for the gauge, make sure you check the right one. |
