Default Projects help please...

I have a couple of small projects in mind for my XC60 and need some info please:

1 What's the best way of getting switched 12v to the bottom of the windscreen pillar drivers side?

2 I need to get a small wire (1.5mm) through the bulkhead, preferably drivers side.

Any help would be much appreciated.

for the switched 12v, i would take it from the cigaret lighter socket. i have done exactly that for my dash cam, and the cable is easy to route (mine passes up the pillar on the drivers side)

that is of course assuming you wont want to take many amps.

what you doin'?

I have a GPS speedtrap alert device that I would like to wire up and sit on the dash near the pillar.
How easy is it to remove the "A" pillar trim?

i didn't touch the pillar trim as i was nervous of the airbag tucked in there.......i just slipped the cable within the rubber door seal so it wont interfere with airbag deployment.

I removed the A pillar trim in order to check the wire for the antenna of the remote heater (optional extra). As I recall, it was just a matter of one or two screws, and some plastic that covered them. Looking at the airbag on the inside, I concluded that there is no danger of accidentally deploying the airbag by just removing and replacing the trim. Just make sure not to pry around to much, or mess with electronics in there.
