Set of 4 comet wheels
Set of 4 Volvo S70R/V70R comet alloy wheels in average condition for the age, I’d say needing refurbishment with no tyres.
Collection only £80 |

Hi buddy
Cannot collect due to COVID and the fact I'm in London, but would you be willing to package individually for a courier? P.s - some pics will be required as if they're too bad, it might be cheaper to buy a set not requiring refinishing. |

Does that mean they won't fit a V70?
I cannot believe there are Comets in 7, 7.5 and 8J. So confusing! |

Quote:
My work carpark is a tight multistorey and I dislike spacers, so the 7.5Js are a no go for me. A shame as 7Js are much harder to find.

Any photos of the wheels? I’m interested but obviously depends on condition, any real deep gouges or chunks missing?

There’s no major chunks missing but clearly could benefit from a refurbishment

You're telling me that a wheel which is 0.5" wider but with the same offset causes ALL of those above issues with the same 225/45 tyre? How is that even possible?
Is this information correct? |

7J specified with 215 width tyres from factory, not 225. Yes, the information is correct and very well documented. Even the briefest of searches will illustrate the same points.
7J to 7.5J means tyre is 5mm taller, with 6.4mm more inset and 6.4mm more poke. This is enough to foul the arches. Why else do you think that only the C70s, with different arch liners and lockstop thicknesses, had 7.5J and the widest any other P80 got was 7J. I am not trying to stop you from buying them. Plenty people buy the 7.5Js, fit the C70 lockstops and then just put up with the arch liner wear. Avoiding full lock, even with the C70 lockstops, will reduce front rubbing but you'll still rub on compression during turning and the rears will also rub on compression. Liners are relatively easy to find and relatively cheap. They're also easy to replace.
