You are correct in regards to it not being mentioned software update list. However, you are wrong about needing to switch it on every time after starting the car. These are the icons that I have in MY20 XC60 display after turning on the car, and it had a full software update made in late May.

I had a 69 plate XC60 as a hire car for 4 months at the end of last year after my S90 was delayed, and that had to be turned on manually every time. My S90 (which was delivered in January) however stays turned on unless I either turn it off or pull the stalk towards be beyond the flash click (not really sure what that does to be honest other than disable auto beam). My S90 has the shadow lights, so not sure if that makes a difference as the XC60 didn't.

Maybe as nu11eaf said, it's only the latest model years... 🤔

I have MY19 and it stays on for me too. This was new behaviour since I got it serviced and software updated in May 2020.

No need to wait for night driving. You can see immediately that the auto high beam symbol stays on. And no need to save it to your profile either. It is on until you switch it off and then it is off until you switch it on, and the car remembers this position even after switching off/on the engine.

I have a new XC90. When I turned on the auto-high beam for the first time, the next day I got in the car it was on already. However, the following day it was off again and I hadn't touched it.

Yes I just meant I have not used the system so never noticed it. But tried it today, started car flicked auto highbeam on, Auto symbol showing on driver display, turned engine off locked the doors and left for 15 minutes or so, went back and restarted the car and no Auto symbol.

Doesn't remember the setting on my V60 (which had a total software update yesterday so definitely up to date). I was also expecting the wipers to remember their settings, but apparently not on the V60.

Odd, I had the update last month, the wipers always used to remember the last setting (and still do) but my auto high beam symbol definitely stays on, I have driven it a number of times since and the only occasion I had to activate it was the first time after the update.

I can confirm that having set the auto high-beam last night, it was still active this morning. This implies that I had the latest software installed, at the last service.

The stop/start stopped working however, even after the new battery installation, but that’s another story...
