Default ETM Question on price..is this right?

Hello there,

My ETM needs replacing on my 2001 V70 T5 Manual.
Only had the car 3 days and it's gone!

Now its been in an independent garage for Diagnostics and they said I need a new ETM Unit.
Just rung the Volvo main dealer and sat down and waited for the shock figure, however they quoted me £136+VAT. Also a couple of software updates at 50pence each!
Also said the software update may fix it and to drop it in and they will try it!

Now i,m confused as the prices I am seeing on the forum are far more than the £136 quoted.

Can this be right?

Dont question it , by pass the TRY software bit as sooner or later you will need a new ETM so bite their hand off :-)
To be honest they either havent quoted Labour OR its the parts they have missed .
Or is that £136 just for the clean and software of your old unit?

Yes it's just the Part for £136+Vat.

Is this an easy job or best to be done by Volvo?

It has to be done by a volvo dealer or authourised repairer with the right equipment to do software ... the new throttle wont work without the software
