My 2004 V70 just had it's MOT.
Although not a failure, I was told one of the wishbone bushes was gone, and the other three were splitting.

I was charged £220 + VAT for all four to be replaced, plus £20 for tracking.
Guess this seems a fair price.
I'd be a bit surprised by the bush failure not leading to an MoT fail.

Did you get just the bushes re-done, or were the wishbones replaced.

Cheers

Maybe it would have been a failure.
But I got them done anyway.

I got all wishbones replaced.
He said because of the extensive labour on just replacing the bushes, I may as well replace the entire wishbones.

This is after the correct procedure of having the weight of the car on the control arm and tightening the bolts up!

agreed, scamtech stuff is dreadfull quality, had a pair of wishbones on my old v70 fail after 10k miles, id always use genuine items from rufe in the steering /suspension area, might be a bit dearer but cheaper by far in the long run

gsf normally source their parts from OEM suppliers so should be ok, in stark contrast to scamtech who source them from whichever sweatshop can make them the cheapest

Well it is now MOT'd but get this I was Issued an advisory that there is "Some movement under load to o/s/f arm inner rear bush
The tester said it has more movement than the old arm on the other side
Now do I complain to GSF or go the whole hog & report him to VOSA for issueing an advisory just to keep his figures up

I have now fitted a Polybush to one side of the car instead of replacing the complete arm. The Polybush can be trasnplanted if the ball joint fails, onto the new control arm.

how easy it is to replace wishbones. New ones on order. Volvo want £200 for fitting, although the parts guy reckons its straight forward. Have Haynes manual.

Follow the Haynes manual its about half hours work just make sure that you have the full weight of the vehicle on the road wheel when you tighten up the inner bolts
