so this was on another thread but... car working fine...
taken for mot, cost 350 due to flooding causing electric problems, fog light, bad emissions so new centre exhaust bits to fit leaks at seals, no problems whatever so long as she now runs nice... get it back, massively hesitant to go, juddering, struggles to get over 50 mph... FFS so take it back to garage....
new lambda sensor apparently sorts her out, still ouch at £240 more...
still a bit hesitant upon taking away but alot better... see if there is anything i can see before taking it back
just now took it to put some fuel in as i know this thing runs out when it says its a 3rd full and hoping this might sort something out
barley made it home and the car conk out outside my drive
looks to be leak at fuel filter and now i am an angry man,,,,
taking it to another garage today to sort this but ive already now paid about how much i paid for the car for as far as i can see for someone to break my car.
it better just be this now, im pretty certain it must be and that the other garage missed it, but for now i am fuming and out of pocket.
Volvo and I are not currently on talking terms!

My v40 is also silver....looks just like yours.....2000 model year and I bought it new...88k miles now....Ive had minimal problems/expenses....when I do put money into repairs I keep in mind that Ive had zero finance payments for the last nine years......always takes the edge off the expenditure....hoping for 200k miles.

Even if it needs fixing every now and then (usually when its cold and wet it seems!) just think that there isn't really many other cars that are as practicle, comfortable and awesome as the V40 a cheap rubbish box on wheels costs like £7 grand, I would have to spend a LOT on mine to get near that figure lol

True, but petrol V40's are not so popular if you want to clock up some miles and are more complicated in electrical terms.

You can probably do 24,000 miles worth of fuel with the difference in cost though, 7k car and 0 miles vs 3k car and 24,000 miles
