I have a '64 plate D2 with the Powershift, and, having owned loads of automatics in the past (used to live in Canada, plus my recent C5 was an auto), I find that the Volvo Powershift is excellent, easily the equal of a good slushbox. If you want to experience a BAD dual clutch transmission, try the one on my wife's '14 plate Vauxhall Corsa. That has to be the worst box ever - never shifts when you want it to, shifts are slower than molasses in winter, and it sometimes (but not always) severely clunks or bangs between 1st and 2nd. "Normal when they've done less than 7000 miles," says my local dealer. We'll see when we get to that far, if ever - neither of us likes driving the thing.

LOL sorry guys my bad....don't know why I keep saying powershift. Yes the Geartronic auto box. I need a vacation

But anyway, PierreC try Veloce Performance in Centurion http://www.plugandplaychip.co.za/

Spoke to them, they can do software on our car's for a very very good price, with dyno before and after.
Standard After Difference
Power 110.4 kW / 150 hp 147.2 kW / 200 hp 36.8 kW / 50 hp
Torque / traction 350 Nm 450 Nm 100 Nm

They do it by Boot method, and have done it before. Thinking of taking a drive there and find out more.

I like the Powershift considering it is a "manual" type gearbox . most of the time you cant detect it is not a conventional auto box . You haven't experienced a bad Auto "Manual" box until you have tried the Citroen one , you have to wait and brace your neck for the next gear change .. but they have a conventional clutch operated by a servo .

Thanks Gotcha, will investigate.

The upgrade on my previous XC70 was a file shipped to me from Sweden as a software file - I plugged a UDBII adapter into my laptop's USB port and loaded the "tune" - took all of 3 or 4 minutes and the car was transformed!

PierreC, miskien kan jy my pm, met jou epos adres, sal graag notas wil uitruil aangesien jy opsoek is na wat ek is. Ek kan nog nie pm's stuur nie....

I am a little worried in the boot method....
Would love to Rica, if it wasn't for the stupid pin code.

That's the way I would have liked it, as I also have all the OBD gadgets lol, and waiting for my Vida Dice pro now.....

I wonder if all pin codes on the ECU's are the same....
