Default V50 rear spoiler fitting template.

Just aquired a rear tailgate spoiler from that well known online auction site! Obviously it didnt come with the template for drilling into the tailgate (gulp!!)
Does anyone know if I can download the template.

There is a member called BenB. I'd PM him if you can as I know he custom fitted his.

A quote from previous correspondence from Ben to me.

"It's a little bit scary drilling it, but I kept telling myself that if it all goes wrong, the panel at the top of the boot is actually quite small so a respray wouldn't be too expensive!! Don't worry it won't come to it, just make sure you sand it (Or get it professionally done) to a proper flat finish, because mine is one of the eby ones, and when it's painted I can see how ripply the 'flat' top of it is!!"

There was a great write-up on this on another Volvo Forum in the US.
I'll try to find the link as I posted the same to Ben since we did ours at the same time.
But in short, strip the tail-gate down, very easy job.
Get some paper and make a template of the spoiler surface which will connect to the car.
Repeat for the other side of the spoiler (left and right).
Then take the templates to the tail-gate.
Hold the spoiler to the templates and see the holes line-up.
Re-do the alignment check again in a few minutes (you know the drill, measure once, twice.....)
Then with a small drill, drill a pilot hole where the bolts go through.
Check the alignment again.
Then drill with suitable size drill to allow the bolts of the spoiler to go through.
Don't forget to add some sealant before fitting as you don't want any leaks!
Good luck.
Oh and I used some double sided sponge tape around the fitting area to add extra strength!

Can't it simply be glued? On older Volvos the rear spoiler is only glued on!

Yeah. On my C30 with DRIVe spoiler, the two little screws don't really serve any purpose. The spoiler is glued on. I guess even at high speeds the glue is enough...
