And ACS thanks for that, I can go to bed tonight having learned something !

My saffy has the 7 seat option and a space saver, have not made the time to mess about and check but either ;

1. 7 seats = why spare is a space saver or
2. Some moron has flogged the full size Comet - in all likelihood the same one who replaced the genuine jack with a low end GM one

Anybody know the answer please ?

It's the Volvo 850 T-5R (sic) Club UK and his name is Dana Miah.

I've never dealt with him, but with regards to the above comments about him — it's only a wheel, what could possibly go wrong?!

I know what you mean about FB — sorry to have inflicted that on you

You've got me thinking now - Mine is 7 seat so I'm going to do a bit of very careful measuring to see if a full size would actually fit. The little sticker on the fuel filler flap lists the spacesaver - I'm thinking why would it do that if it wasn't factory supplied in the first place.

He uses several alias names. You do not need a degree to work out why

Had not seen him advertise for a few years as he was so fed up with the backlash from this and other like forums so he advertised that he was moving on to shifting BMW’s. Seemingly did not last long ( cannot for a moment think why ) Last seen advertising a Subaru, week or two ago, sadly he will take an 850R in PX

You have been warned. Many will know of the S60R saga and have a barge pole to hand
Afraid to say this is wise warning. A very close friend tried to go against better advice and gave him a chance only to get sold a complete dog of a car. no come back as its a personal sale but he openly admits he trades more than enough that he legally has to be a trader. Berates people for asking to much for cars, points out faults in cars but woe betide the person who points out an issue with one of his or tries to haggle, and if you should ever disagree with him, you are of course a chav... because he has no idea what that means it makes the irony ever more real.

other than that... a gem of a fella...

A big thank you to all of you providing such glowing character references for Dana. I think it's fair to say, I shall avoid him like the plague!!!!

Very wise call Jon

The sort of fella who knowingly sells a mota with a split liner, denies all knowledge but is caught red handed by the audit trail is to be avoided by both wary and unwary. Would not buy a box of matches off him let alone a Titan

In the meantime chucked the 40 year old jump leads in the spare wheel bay in saffy couple of days ago and would not fit without removing them from the bag. To cut a long story short I have near absolute confidence a full size spare will not fit under a 7 seat set up

If I am wrong somebody kindly advise please

If the car was factory fitted with a space-saver wheel it will have a plastic liner in the wheel-well to hold the wheel securely in place

Yup, I think you're right - did my careful measuring to the millimetre - full size won't fit a 7 seater. Thanks for that. I've decided to go for an alloy 17 inch spacesaver with a 60 profile 125 tyre - I think that just fits very snugly. I'll let you know

Sadly I have no liner in the car - just an empty wheel well. I had a C70GT T5 from new with the 18 inch two piece BBS wheel option - that came with a spacesaver but no liner - it sat on that foam "doughnut" you can see in your picture

Regards
John
