Bit of an update about this.. the issue is becoming worse and more common so decided to call Volvo. The guy there sounded pretty positive said to reseal it will be about £180, he said he can't guarantee it won't break but so far all the windscreens they've resealed have been successful with no breakages, so hopefully it won't turn into a £600 job. He recommended trying to push on the windscreen from the inside to see if it moves and I can see quite a bit of flex at the top.

So I'm going to book in to get a windscreen refit / reseal.

Have you considered ukcarglass.co.uk or one of the other car glass replacement companies? I think £180 sounds kind of steep for just refitting the window which is at most a 2 hour job.

Well I have some confidence in them after they said they haven't had one crack on them yet so I'll give Volvo a go this time. We'll see what happens.

I think their labour charge is £140 an hour or something so based on that £180 isn't bad, agreed it's far more than it should be though!
